Slowly Emerging From The Shadows Into The Light

Slowly Emerging From The Shadows Into The Light

Hand-Painted OriginalOne of a Kind
This painting is titled  “Slowly Emerging From The Shadows Into The Light” It was commissioned by M’Connell Surveyors as part of our “Minding Minds Together” project & exhibition which raised awareness & vital funds for mental health charities across Northern Ireland. This painting shows a figure moving from darkness into light. The figure is representative of Belfast City. A city that is emerging from a dark & complicated past into a future which is full of hope & optimism. This painting uses mixed media which includes collage & paint to depict local scenes from the past as well as including images from the present. It serves to remind the viewer that while we can never fully forget the darkness of the past we must whole heartedly embrace our collective brighter future.
Everything you need to know
Is this the original painting?

Yes — this is the original, one-of-a-kind piece, hand-painted by me. It’s not a print or a reproduction. There is only one, and this is it.

Everything you need to know
What’s the difference between an original and a print?

My prints are high-resolution scans of an original painting, printed onto premium museum-quality etching cotton rag giclée paper. Each one captures the colour and detail of the original and arrives unframed.

My originals are one-of-a-kind pieces I’ve hand-painted.

How is my original packed and shipped?

Every original is carefully packed and shipped fully tracked. You’ll receive your tracking number as soon as it’s on its way.

Do you ship worldwide? What about tax & customs?

Yes — I ship worldwide to every country. For orders within the UK and Ireland there’s nothing extra to pay.

For orders outside the UK and Ireland, any customs, import duties or taxes are the buyer’s responsibility — please see my shipping policy for full details. I’m also unable to ship to PO boxes.

Returns & cancellations

All sales are final and I can’t accept returns once an order has been dispatched.

If you need to cancel, email me at studio@niallconlonartist.com within 48 hours of ordering and I’ll do my best to help. If your order arrives damaged, email me within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of the piece and its packaging, and I’ll sort it.

Meet the Artist

Niall Conlon

For over a decade I had a steady job and a reliable income. From the outside, everything looked fine. But there was always a voice inside of me barking away that I was on the wrong path.

That bark kept getting louder & louder until I could no longer ignore it.

I named it the underdog, the restless part of me that refused to settle for comfort & was prepared to take a leap into the unknown.

Walking away from security was terrifying. The first months were filled with financial uncertainty, self-doubt, and more than a few sleepless nights.

But I kept showing up. I kept learning. I kept creating.

And I’m still here making the work I love and living a life that is true to myself.

The red underdog never stopped barking and I never stopped listening.

Taking that risk was the key to a life that feels so much more meaningful, and now I’m in control of my own story. Every print here is a piece of that journey, thank you for being a part of it.

Niall
